Australian Government Bureau of Meteorology TOP PRIORITY FOR IMMEDIATE BROADCAST Severe Thunderstorm Warning – Adelaide Region For INTENSE RAINFALL For people in the Adelaide Hills, Gawler, Playford and parts of Barossa, Mount Barker and Adelaide council areas. Issued at 8:07 am Sunday, 27 October 2024.The Bureau of Meteorology warns that at 7.25 am, a severe thunderstorm likely to produce intense rainfall that may lead to dangerous and life-threatening flash flooding was detected near Gawler and Wasleys.

This thunderstorm is moving towards the southeast. It is forecast to affect Elizabeth, Tea Tree Gully and One Tree Hill by 7:50 am and Mount Barker, Mount Pleasant and Birdwood by 8.20 am.

<br> Rainfall observations:   83.4 mm in 1 hour at Mallala   67.8 mm in 1 hour at Redbanks   45.2 mm in 1 hour at Kangaroo Flat.

<br> The State Emergency Service advises that people should: ·       Don't drive, ride or walk through flood water; ·       Keep clear of creeks and storm rains; ·       Stay indoors, away from windows, while conditions are severe.
